A lot of people forget just ho...Awesome post Gavin! A lot of people forget just how good he was with the Pirates. He often had high obp mixed with great power. I remember being upset when they traded him for Bay and Perez because supposedly the Pirates were trying to get Xavier Nady who was a much bigger name at the time. Like you said it worked out great for the Pirates as Bay picked up right where Giles left off. Also, the Pirates ended up getting Nady in another deal a few seasons later in which he had his career year.
