I loved Muppet Babies as a kid. Maybe never my #1 favorite cartoon at the time, but at least in the top 5 for much of my childhood. I would love to watch thru it again as an adult, but doesn't seem to be streaming anywhere yet. Disney+ has a recent reboot available.. but it's all CGI and pales in comparison to the real deal in my eyes. But I was able to catch an old episode on YouTube the other day. That got me reading the Wikipedia entry for the show, and now I'm going to squeeze a post out of it.. specifically seeing how many voice actors from the show I have an autograph from.

Thanks for reading and my best to everybody in these nutty times we live in.
Way cool! I also loved that show. Don't remember too much anymore, just that I liked it.
ReplyDeleteUnique post idea! Watched the original and now my girls are watching the reboot.
ReplyDeleteThe key cartoons of that era for me were GI Joe and Transformers, but I do remember watching Muppet Babies too. I'm actually surprised... because I was almost a teenager when it came out in 1984.
ReplyDeleteIf you ever run out of stuff to do, a fun youtube trip I did a few months ago was watching videos of voice actors. Good ones show all the voices the actor did and were sometimes over 10 minutes long. I remember watching the Tress MacNeille and Russi Taylor one's (probably a couple weeks after she passed), then other actors like James Avery. It surprised me how many voices some of these people did. I knew Tress and Russi did a lot though and I'd love to get their autographs one day.
ReplyDeleteAs for Muppet Babies, I loved that show growing up, and have a few McDonald's toys. Now if I can just get the stuffed baby Kermit they put out in 1987 I think, I'd finish that set. Nice read!
What a fun post! I never realized how many voice actors I knew from other shows also did voices here!
