What's the record for most times being the 2nd place bidder on eBay? I think I've got a shot at the record. Every time I put in a bid on something, the winning bid ends up a buck or less over my bid. If only I could have the foresight to bid a buck or two more. But then, the winning bid would be a buck or so more than that. If I get blown out of the water, I can live with that. But to constantly get cool stuff swiped out of my clutches for a few cents...
It makes me feel like this:
Yep, me sitting on the bench with my own tea.. if you know what I mean.
You know, I kind of like being second on ebay. It keeps me from overpaying. I set my ceiling price and if it goes beyond it, then so be it. I know too many people that get a “high” from snipe bidding and end up overpaying for cards.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I guess that's a good way to look at it. Save money and don't have to worry about overpaying. Still though, I feel better if the ends way over my bid. Then I'm like, "Fine, buddy.. you want it THAT much, take it!"
DeleteJust now, I was top bidder for a couple days on a Willie Mays certified auto for just $0.99. The seller made a typo in the posting that probably limited the hits it was getting. Gotta admit I was getting a little excited. I put in a sniping bid for a bit over $100. And yep, guess what.. the winning bid was just a couple bucks more than my top bi. FUUUUUUUUUdge. That sucks. I almost got a cheap Willie Mays auto cheap. Oh well. He has one of the worst signatures ever that looks nothing like his name, for what that's worth. Still though. God, I wish I had won it for 99 cents. Damn.
