Custom TTM success: Karen Allen as Mrs. Smalls!

Earlier today, it was announced Karen Allen would have hobby-only autographed Sandlot inserts in 2018 Topps Archives (hobby boxes come out on October 24th). So I guess my "completed" auto set isn't quite finished after all.

Ironically.. on the very day of the announcement.. I get a TTM return in my mailbox from whom? Yep, Karen Allen!

I'm sure I'll track down a certified Archives auto soon enough, but it won't be able to hold a candle to a personalized auto, wishing me all the best, on a card I made.

This is my second TTM success from her. The first one took 380 days to come back (2016-2017). This one, less than a fortnight. Haha.. you just never know with through-the-mail requests.

Thank you so much, Ms. Allen! Means a lot to me!

  1. Wow, another cool one, well done! She'll always be Marion Ravenwood to me more than Mrs. Smalls, but I love that she's been in multiple movies I liked (plus Kingdom of the Crystal Skull)

  2. Given that the Archives auto appears to be a sticker I'd say this is hugely superior even before factoring in the custom and personalization awesomeness.

  3. That is awesome! Congratulations on the personalization. I wonder if she got excited to see your custom arrive at her doorstep. Best of luck on getting the Archives autograph. Interesting that this year they're doing hobby only autographs. I wonder if any were retail only.

  4. Very cool! You'll have to get her to sign an "Animal House" custom next.

  5. Congrats on the TTM return! How cool would it be if the Hobby exclusive Sandlot card just happened to be the same one you used?!?

  6. Just awesome! I'll be posting the customs you sent me in the next week or so and I'll be sure to link to this. Love it.

  7. Thanks, guys!

Fuji- yes, there were a few retail-only autos. The first link in this post lists them out.

    1. Ugh. Seeing Simmons on the retail only list hurts. Was hoping they'd flood the market with his signature, so I could snag it affordably.
